This is a non-profit Christian ministry providing wellness ministry and pastoral counseling from a Biblical/Christian standpoint. We believe that such services are an important part of discipleship. We offer these services to people seeking to integrate their faith into the process of resolving issues.
Our services are provided by ministerial staff not licensed by the state. We are unlicensed because our state does not require us to obtain such recognition. Our ministerial staff received training in counseling and/or theology as part of their college, Bible College or Seminary education, and they also have advanced education and training in one or more natural health fields such as biblical health coaching, traditional naturopathy, or herbalism. Some support staff have expertise in an area that is related, such as family life education or child development.
We do not serve as medical doctors/physicians, dieticians, professional counselors, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, or any other state-licensed professional. Clients are encouraged to continue treatment with their healthcare professionals, including, without limitation, their physicians. Torn Curtain Ministries, Inc. / Emmanuel Biblical Counseling Services does not provide health care, mental health care, dietetic, or medical therapy services and will not diagnose, treat or cure in any manner whatsoever, any disease or ailment of the human body. All foods, supplements, or herbal suggestions are suggestions only, not prescriptions, and anything you consume is your own choice. We make no claims as to specific health benefits of any herbs or dietary supplements. The services we offer are not intended to diagnose or treat any disease or condition, but rather to help YOU gain control of your life in a biblical manner.
You are free to discontinue services at any time. Most people receive services until they feel they have learned biblical, holistic methods of dealing with their difficulties. Occasionally, our staff elects to discontinue services. This usually happens when they feel no substantial progress is being made or other factors are interfering with their ability to help you. If services end prematurely, we will help you find qualified help elsewhere.
Under normal circumstances everything you discuss with us will be held in strict confidence. However, you should be aware that there are some situations in which we may required by law to report information to the proper authorities without your permission or knowledge. These situations include, but may not be limited to a client's: indications of bodily harm to others, involvement in a felony, suicidal intentions, and suspicion of child or elder abuse or neglect. We may also disclose information in response to a subpoena issued by a court of law.
